From the shadowed corner of Equinox Manor’s Nursery Tower, where moonlight filters through lace curtains and forgotten lullabies echo faintly, stands Bright Eyes—a solemn figure carved in stillness and mystery.

This original Austin Productions 1987 sculpture, titled Bright Eyes, features a young girl in a flowing gown clutching her wide-eyed feline companion. Cast in durastone (a stone-resin composite), the statue captures a quiet, almost ghostlike presence. The girl’s head tilts upward in longing, while the cat stares outward—alert, almost too alert.

The textured matte finish gives it the look of hand-chiseled stone. A common piece in its day… yet few remain in such striking form.

Rumor has it: When placed near a window, the girl always seems to be facing where the moon will rise—no matter how she’s turned.
